3.3 Show Empathy. We're on the Customer's Side!

Scenario: A customer is looking for a replacement for an old Belwith Hinge. They're disappointed to see that the dimensions of the hinges now available are different from when they originally bought their hinges 5 years ago, so the new one won't work in the old holes.

Inadequate Response: I'm sorry, that's just the way it is. They no longer make the holes in the same alignment as when you bought them. You'll have to get something else.

Better Response: I completely share your frustration on this one. We run into this issue all the time. For some reason, the manufacturers constantly change the alignment of the hinges, making replacements incredibly difficult. We probably won't be able to get you an exact fit, but let me look around and see how close we can come.
